-My first project was a twitter light.  This gadget lights up in different colours based on the results of a search on twitter.  We demonstrated this at the "Fetons Linux" conference at [[http://hepia.hesge.ch/|HEPIA]]
-It consists of a small wooden box, with an 80mm plastic ball on top.  The plastic ball was a cheap (6 CHF) LED light from [[http://www.jumbo.ch|Jumbo]].  Inside I have an [[http://www.arduino.cc|arduino]], a wifi shield from [[http://www.asynclabs.com/store?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=26&category_id=6&vmcchk=1|asynclabs]] and a [[http://thingm.com/products/blinkm.html|BlinkM]] smart multicolour LED.  This connects via wifi to my home network, and connects to a [[http://processing.org/|processing]] sketch to get the status from twitter.
